Here is a little bit about my life. It is pretty exciting! At least I think so!
My husband, Sam, and I both live and work full time at a Christian outreach youth ranch called Cross Bar X. This camp exists to reach out to underprivileged and at-risk youth. Many of our campers have never been to camp, and a lot have never seen the countryside, much less a ranch. The opportunity to spend time working and playing on a ranch, with counselors sharing God's love with them, changes many campers' lives forever.
Sam is the ranch operations director. He oversees land use, building maintenance, ropes course, facility care, and much more.
And I run the horse program. This is the first year in a long while there has been someone to give full time attention to the horse program, and I am excited to grow and expand the program.
We both love our jobs and really enjoy living on the beautiful 150 acre ranch.
We also enjoy exploring the amazing town of Durango we are blessed to live in. There is much hiking to be done, along with snowboard and snowshoeing in the winter. And let's not forget the 260+ restaurants to try out! For a small town, it is active and exciting.
